Research

My aim is to examine educational projects, ideas and systems from around the world in order to illuminate issues in educational society in Asia-Pacific Region and beyond. Recently, my research has focused on the following themes: Education for Sustainable Development, Climate Change Education, Education for International Understanding, Alternative Education / Holistic Education, Comparative Education. Each of the fields straddles the borders of “advanced” and “developing” countries and is multidisciplinary. Further, each is important for envisioning endogenous development (growth from within) for human beings.
Also my concern is how to challenge issues of re-building relationships with non-humans such as viruses and climate change.
